There is complete winter skiing and snowboarding. Night skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding and sledging are all available in the High Tatra Mountains.
Strbske Pleso is 20 minutes drive away. Jasna is 30 minutes away. Snowfall is typical for the period between November and March. The the number of the days with snow blanket is in the range of 80 - 136 days
Strbske Pleso is the highest town in the High Tatras (1350 m above sea level), and the character of this area is created by a lake which is the second largest on the Slovak side of the High Tatras. Strbske Pleso was founded as a centre of tourism and later new aquatherapy facilities, recreation facilities and a top class complex were built. The town has an excellent transportation infrastructure, including a Tatra Railway link to Poprad. It is a starting point for many attractive excursions and trips in the mountains. Throughout the year the town has a
busy cultural life and it is a well-known skiing centre.
Jasna with its' modern lifts, facilities and well maintained slopes, has developed the reputation as central Europes premier ski resort, attracting guests from every corner of Europe. The resort is spread over the north and south sides of Chopok mountain, one of the highest peaks in the Low Tatra range. Each side is serviced by its own lifts and restaurants and has a different feel. There is excellent facitilites for learners and advanced skiiers alike, with plentiful area for picking up the basics and an array of "freeride zones" - which is essentially designated off piste which few rarely venture to, giving for peaceful, untouched freshies on a regular basis! Tatranska Lomnica is the largest of all Tatra towns. It is a major centre of tourist activity
offering ski slopes in nearby Skalnate Pleso, good transportation connections, aerial bobsleighs, quad-bikes, and some wonderful scenery - especially in the winter. Visitors can enjoy their spare time in casinos, fitness centres, swimming pools or by hiking one of the many trails.
There are several stables nearby offering riding for all levels in stunning countryside.
Further upstream on the River Belà, the rafting company Mutton do River Belà and River Vah.
The High Tatras is a land of breath-taking scenery perfect for summer cycling tours. The 26 km of mountain range has an abundance of cycling trails available from easy tarmac trails leading up to tough terrain trails for the expert cyclists. Cycle Map
RiverBelá is home to trout, Danubian goby and grayling.
